Join the Connecticut River Museum at our annual Block Party on September 19, 2026 for a fun, free day of activities, with food and beverage vendors and music. Children will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of educational activities centered around nature, and the whole family can compete in various lawn games.

Start your morning with a relaxing Yoga class by the River, or join Essex Historical Society for a fun, history-themed activity outside. Enjoy lunch from Turtle Café (menu can be found here) and Porky Pete’s BBQ, with delightful drinks from Thirsty Cactus and sweet treats from Deep River Ice and Whisktopia.

In the afternoon, take part in an interactive theatre workshop for all ages, take a tour of our newly-opened historic Lay House, and enjoy a refreshing cup of Italian ice or ice cream from Deep River Ice. If you haven’t yet experienced our special exhibit, Rhythm of the River, make sure you stop by the Museum to explore the sounds of the Connecticut River!

The Annual Meeting will take place on the same day, Saturday, September 19th, at the Museum. All Members are welcome to attend.
