Sensory Friendly Days
On three Mondays in 2022, our galleries will open from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with limited visitor numbers to ensure a calm environment.
2022 Sensory Friendly Hours:
Monday, April 25, 2022
Monday, July 25, 2022
Monday, November 28, 2022
Exhibits with loud noises and/or bright lights are modified to allow people with a range of differing abilities to experience all the Museum has to offer. A designated quiet room is set up for the duration of the event to allow visitors to decompress, take a break, and experience the Museum at their own pace.
With generous support from the Petit Family Foundation, we are pleased to offer sensory items such as weighted vests, noise-reducing headphones, fidget cubes, and more, to ensure a successful day.
Preview guides and materials for families to read together before visiting are available below.
