The Ohio River, Gateway to the West
Presented by: William Reynolds, Ohio Historical Society- Campus Martius and the Ohio River Museum. Currently serving as Historian at both museums.
William Reynolds will discuss the important collections at the Ohio River Museum from dugout canoe to steamboat and the important role these objects played in our country’s history.
Reynolds is a 1970 BA Kent State University graduate with degrees in Art History and Elementary Art Education. He is Past President of the Washington County Historical Society, Founder of The Association of Ohio Longrifle Collectors, Co-Founder of The Civil War RoundTable of the Mid-Ohio Valley, and Board member and Museums Chair of the Sons and Daughters of Pioneer Rivermen. He worked for the Western Reserve Historical Society from 1972-73 and was the Research Assistant to David McCullough for the recent publication the Pioneers.
