Sensory Friendly Hours at the Connecticut River Museum
April 25, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
April 25, 2022
10:00 am – 12:00 pm
The Connecticut River Museum is launching a Sensory Friendly Hours program to celebrate National Autism Awareness Month.
We are committed to deepening our impact within the community. On three Mondays in 2022, days we are not open to the general public, our galleries will open from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm; visitor numbers will be limited to ensure a calm environment.
Exhibits with loud noises and/or bright lights will be modified to allow people with a range of differing abilities to experience all the Museum has to offer. A designated quiet room will be set up for the duration of the event to allow visitors to decompress, take a break, and experience the Museum at their own pace. Parents and caregivers must stay with their children at all times.
The Connecticut River Museum is committed to ensuring our programming is accessible to all people. Preview guides and materials for families to read together before visiting are available on our website. To reserve your spot please click here. For more information, please email Allison Insall, Director of Public Programs, at ainsall@ctrivermuseum.org.
