Sea Level Rise –Global and Local Aspects

Sea Level Rise is a result of global climate change that threatens directly the wellbeing of 600 million people on the planet. Coastal areas will flood, coastal sewage treatment plants will need to be moved land-inward, coastal aquifers will become saline, and many coastal river floodplains may flood. I will discuss what drives the rate of Sea Level Rise worldwide, and discuss some sea level rise data from the coastal marshes in CT that we studied for many years.
