“Trees that once had leaves are bare.
They’re dressed instead in lacy white.
Snow dusts their trunks and coats their limbs
with flakes that outline them with light.”
Join a boy and his dog as they use their senses of sight and touch to identify seven common trees in the snow covered forest and learn about a world of natural beauty that surrounds them even in the dead of winter.

Swing by the Connecticut River Museum for take-home craft activities that engage kids with the Connecticut River’s stunning wildlife and rich history! Crafts will take place in the Museum’s Boathouse. A program just for kids 4+ and their caregivers, River Tales includes a story and craft activity themed around nature. In January, we’ll read Winter Trees by Carole Gerber, a winter story with intricate illustrations and lyrical prose that makes telling trees apart easy for young learners.
