Join the Pequot Library’s Cecily Dyer for an educational talk highlighting artifacts on display in the Library’s Charting Your Course: Cutting-Edge Navigation and Seafaring exhibit. Cecily will provide an expert’s perspective on these centuries-old manuals, maps and atlases, drawing connections between Connecticut’s nautical past and the state’s current culture and economy.

Cecily Dyer is Special Collections Librarian at Pequot Library in Southport, Connecticut, where she oversees a distinctive collection of rare books and manuscripts focused on Americana and local history. She came to Pequot Library in 2022 from Brooklyn Public’s Library Center for Brooklyn History (previously Brooklyn Historical Society), where she was the Special Collections and Outreach Librarian.
