Rivers have the right to flourish, flow and be listened to. Talking Rivers is an organization that uses ecocentric storytelling, art, and science to advocate for the Rights of the Upper St. Lawrence River and Adirondack watersheds of northern New York, Haudenosaunee Territory, and works with others locally and globally to promote the importance of listening to and taking into account the voice of rivers, their watersheds and their human and other-than-human beings in their decision making and actions. Join environmental story-makers Blake Lavia & Tzintzun Aguilar-Izzo for a webinar that explores their organization’s blend of advocacy, storytelling, art, and science.

Blake and Tzintzun (both they/them) are two environmental story-makers from the Talking Wings Collective, who helped found Talking Rivers. In collaboration with Talking Rivers, they are currently working to create spaces in which humans can unite to protect Land and Water. Blake and Tzintzun reside as settlers along the banks of Akwesasne/St. Regis River, their friend and guardian. This River flows through New York’s North Country, Haudenosaunee Territory, to meet with Kaniatarowanénhne, the Great or St. Lawrence River.
