“Connecticut River Fish Migrations”

Gephard will talk about which fish are migrating during which months of the year as well as tell a bit about the specific fish history and their status in the river.  Potential species included in the talk are springtime migratory fish; American Eel, Glass Eels, Alewives, Shad (and Sea Lamprey), Blueback Herring, and Striped Bass.

Steve is a Supervising Fisheries Biologist with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Fisheries Division, overseeing the Diadromous Fisheries and Habitat Conservation and Enhancement programs. Throughout his 30+ year career with DEEP, Steve has given a strong voice to diadromous fish across the state, region, nation and world. His efforts have led to the construction of over 50 fish passage structures and numerous dam removals in Connecticut, restoring access for diadromous fish to hundreds of miles of historic habitat.

Seating is limited; please reserve your spot early.
