DESCRIPTION:Thursdays on the Dock\nOld Dog New Trick\nThursday\, August 27\, 2020\n5:30 – 7:30 pm \nPlease arrive early to ensure your spot on the lawn – Space is very limited. \nIn order to maintain best social distance practices\, we need to limit the number attending our Thursday On The Dock performances. Each Thursday night in the summer\, the foot of Main Street in Essex is the place to be from 5:30 –7:30 pm. We have a fabulous lineup this year thanks to our presenting sponsor\, Prive Swiss Wellness. \nOld Dog New Trick is an increasingly popular local talent that sprang onto the vibrant Lower Connecticut River Valley music scene some eight years ago beginning with the father-son duo of Bruce and Mitch Thorndike\, then adding the rhythm force of Abe Wilson and Paul Emmerling. Geoff Cox on sax and flute completes the colorful front section. With a suitcase full of original songs and an ever-evolving mashup of creative covers\, ODNT\, as they are known\, has grown a fan base that is as vital and exuberant as the five lads themselves. From Van Morrison to the Stones\, Zac Brown\, Chris Stapleton\, CSNY\, The Band and of course\, JJ Cale! Never the same song played twice! They’ll have you up and dancing\, singing along with their fan-favored originals…and of course calling out for One More Song! \nFrom July 16 through September 10\, guests can listen to music\, get a FREE massage\, taste a new beverage\, and take in our gorgeous waterfront views. Each Thursday night in the summer\, the foot of Main Street in Essex is the place to be from 5:30 –7:30 pm. They sing songs of hope\, songs of love\, songs of despair\, and songs of good times.\nIan and Dustin Meadows have been playing music together for a good portion (the majority) of the 23 years they’ve known each other. Drawing from a varied list of influences; their sound and songs have taken shape over countless late night jams and writing sessions in their childhood bedroom\, and hundreds of shows all over the country. \nIan and Dustin also perform as The Meadows Brothers Band with their friends Tim Leffingwell on bass\, and Steve Cusano on drums. \nFrom July 16 through September 10\, guests can listen to music\, get a FREE massage\, taste a new beverage\, and take in our gorgeous waterfront views. SUMMARY:SOLD OUT! Thursdays on the Dock - John Spignesi Band
DESCRIPTION:Thursdays on the Dock\nJohn Spignesi Band\nThursday\, August 13\, 2020\n5:30 – 7:30 pm \nWE ARE AT CAPACITY FOR THIS SHOW. \nNew Haven based quartet “JSB” (shortened for The John Spignesi Band) is a group you don’t want to sleep on. Led by guitarist/frontman\, John “Spigs” Spignesi\, this band has been steadily making a name for themselves in the East Coast jam scene since their formation in January 2015. \n“What’s on the setlist tonight?” many fans tend to ask. The answer is you\, the audience\, and the vibe at the venue. Together we can guide the journey and the energy of the show. It’s about that shared experience. JSB has never used setlists\, often sculpting shows on the fly\, with rockers\, ballads\, & sing-a-longs. A truly diverse musical ensemble who doesn’t believe limiting themselves to genres\, JSB performs a wide variety of original tunes while adding in covers that they truly make their own. \nJSB has shared the stage with national-touring acts such as Max Creek\, Zach Deputy\, Kung Fu\, The Funky Dawgz Brass Band\, and more. On the road and on the stage\, the band’s motto has become “No Reverse” inspiring them to always be hungry for more. \nFrom July 16 through September 10\, guests can listen to music\, get a FREE massage\, taste a new beverage\, and take in our gorgeous waterfront views. These events are free\, although we do pass a hat to enable us to continue the tradition. \nBeer and wine are available for purchase.
