SUMMARY:Thursdays on the Dock: John Spignesi Band
DESCRIPTION:Thursdays on the Dock\nJohn Spignesi Band\nThursday\, July 20\, 2023\n5:30 – 7:30 pm \nThursdays on the Dock has been a shoreline staple for 14 years and is still the destination for waterfront music. Each Thursday evening in July and August from 5:30-7:30\, bring a chair or blanket\, listen to a free concert\, and watch the sun go down over the river. \nOur presenting sponsor Prive Swiss Wellness is always on hand offering free massages and giveaways. \n\n\nJSB seeks that musical and emotive sweet spot between rock’s psychedelic swagger and the honest lyricism of John Spignesi’s songwriting. \nThe New Haven based trio is: vocalist and songwriter John “Spigs” Spignesi on guitar\, with Joe Jeffery (bass) and Matt Alling (drums). Together they hang out and like to consider what they share as “Music For Your Soul.” \nJSB’s performance is grounded in a brotherhood created amongst the band members. The phrase often uttered is “No Reverse\,” which means they are seeking always to add to their performances and to the audience’s experience with an improvisational intensity. At the band’s core\, though\, is a deep and personal honesty of John Spignesi’s lyrics\, which range from all out party vibes to the real self doubts we all encounter every day. \n\n\n\n\n\nIn case of inclement weather\, please check our site. All updates will be shown there. \n\n\n\nWe pass a hat!\nThese events are free; we pass a hat to enable us to continue the tradition. \nCash bar. SUMMARY:Thursdays on the Dock: Java Groove
DESCRIPTION:Thursdays on the Dock\nJava Groove\nThursday\, July 13\, 2023\n5:30 – 7:30 pm \nThursdays on the Dock has been a shoreline staple for 14 years and is still the destination for waterfront music. Each Thursday evening in July and August from 5:30-7:30\, bring a chair or blanket\, listen to a free concert\, and watch the sun go down over the river. \nOur presenting sponsor Prive Swiss Wellness is always on hand offering free massages and giveaways. \n\n\nFrom swing to Sinatra to Sting\, Java Groove is a small 4 piece band with a big sound. It all started in 2015 by the founding members of the swing band\, The Shiny Lapel Trio. When people ask what kind of music you play\, we tell them\, jazzy\, swingy\, ballady\, kinda stuff. The idea behind Java Groove is to have a stripped down swing band with the same effect and vibe of a horn section. \nThe band consists of Dan Bernier on vocals and guitar\, James Alio on guitar\, Marc Iacobellis on bass guitar and Todd Fitting on drums. Todd\, James and Marc all went to middle school and high school together in Guilford\, playing in various bands together. Dan was one of the founding members of The Zingerz\, also playing swing music on the shoreline area. \n\n\n\n\n\nIn case of inclement weather\, please check our site. DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, August 21\, 2022\n4:00 – 6:00 pm \n$50 Members\n$55 Non-Members \nLIVE MUSIC ON THE RIVER \nRESERVE YOUR SEAT \nWe’ve been lucky enough to have JSB on our lawn for Thursdays on the Dock. Now we are so excited to offer for your listening pleasure\, a two-hour JSB show aboard the RiverQuest. This is really one show that you do not want to miss! \nNew Haven based quartet “JSB” (shortened for The John Spignesi Band) is a group you don’t want to sleep on. Led by guitarist/frontman\, John “Spigs” Spignesi\, this band has been steadily making a name for themselves in the East Coast jam scene since their formation in January 2015. \n“What’s on the setlist tonight?” many fans tend to ask. The answer is you\, the audience\, and the vibe at the venue. Together we can guide the journey and the energy of the show. It’s about that shared experience. JSB has never used setlists\, often sculpting shows on the fly\, with rockers\, ballads\, & sing-a-longs. A truly diverse musical ensemble who doesn’t believe limiting themselves to genres\, JSB performs a wide variety of original tunes while adding in covers that they truly make their own. \nImage Courtesy: John Spignesi \n

Each Thursday night in the summer\, the foot of Main Street in Essex is the place to be from 5:30 –7:30 pm. We have a fabulous lineup this year thanks to our presenting sponsor\, Prive Swiss Wellness. \nJSB has shared the stage with national-touring acts such as Max Creek\, Zach Deputy\, Kung Fu\, The Funky Dawgz Brass Band\, and more. On the road and on the stage\, the band’s motto has become “No Reverse” inspiring them to always be hungry for more. \nFrom July 16 through September 10\, guests can listen to music\, get a FREE massage\, taste a new beverage\, and take in our gorgeous waterfront views.
